America wants Syria’s al-Assad out of power because al-Assad is a friend of Iran.
America, under Obama’s twist logic, didn’t face ISIS head on in the beginning because Obama wanted to use ISIS to get rid of al-Assad so that America can achieve its objective w/o actually commit any force on the ground.
Well, Obama’s strategy didn’t work: 1. al-Assad Is still in power,
2. ISIS got stronger because they took over American weapons left behind by the fleeing Iraqi soldiers, 3. hundreds of thousands of innocent people got killed by American drones and fighter jets,
4. Europe got more immigrants thanit can handle, and
5. Russia’s Putin got a perfect excuse To send in Russian tanks, fighter jets, ground troops and Naval vessels.
6. Even China’s air carrier got a chance to practice its war fighting plans.
What does Obama have to say at UN other than admiting defeat? Well, he said that US is no longer the super power of the past years and begged other nations in the world to help the U.S. because America can’t do everything by itself anymore.
Are you surprised? You shouldn’t be.

Annapolis – Great day trip from DC September 30, 2015

Annapolus is Maryland’s Capital and it is where American Naval Academy is. It’s about 50 miles from Northern Virginia via US 50 through Washington DC.
We’ve been here a few times and like what this charming small town has to offer:
1. Free tour of the Naval Academy w/o a reservation. It is two blocks from the water front;
2. Water front tourist attractions;
3. Several ice cream shops near the water front and along the narrow street stretching from the water front to the back of the Maryland state house;
4. Many nice restaurants with street side tables serving decent food and drinks;
5. Small town atmosphere where the pace of the life Is slow and the ambiance around the town is relaxed; and
6. On any night of the week, and of course on Fridays and Saturdays, you’ll see cadets in uniforms taking a break at restaurants and bars along the streets.
If you are around the area for a few days, take US 50 then follow the sign to this quite and small town.
If you are into football,annual Army-Navy football isn’t that great as far as football is concern,but you might enjoy the rivalry。
There are many great restaurants, such as this one, for you to choose from.

First, Airbus’s A-320 and Boeing’s 757 will soon have a much needed competition in the single aisle aircraft market from China’s Comac ARJ21 Xiangfeng 翔鳳.

–For your information, below is an estimate on the market shares of various players in the world. This estimate is four years old and impact of ARJ21 isn’t included in the estimate.
With ARJ21 is about to make delivery, Airbus’s A-380 and Boeing’s 747 will have a new competitor in this lucrative airspace, probably in 5 to 10 years.

China knows that it doesn’t have the technological know-how now to develop this aircraft by itself. Working with Russia is a logical step to take strategically and economically. This move makes sense for Russia too because it desperately wants to move away from the commodity (reads oil) dominant economy too.
Did Obama’s animosity toward Putin in any way accelerate the joint development?
I wonder what’s the next target for China to compete in the commercial landscape: selling cars in the USA and Europe?
The game Yellen and FOMC play September 19, 2015

I bet that you don’t know this. I‘ll let you in on a big secret here.
After Yellen took over American’s top banker job from Bernanke, she came up with a new game for FOMC bankers to play when they meet in Washington DC every time they meet.
They play with dots. Seriously, they take turn to throw dart on a piece of paper and come up with the so-called “Dot Plot.”
Take a look what they came up with three months ago in June 2015.
Last Wednesday and then Thursday, they, under the supreme leadership of Yellen, diligently played the same “dart” game again behind the heavily guarded metal doors of the Federal Reserve’s building near the Capitol. And here is what they came up with: more dots.
My conclusion: these people, just like the rest of us mortals, have no idea of what U.S. economy will be like next quarter or, for that matter, any quarter of any given year. They are, shall I say, playing with dots in the dark.
But, do not for any nano second, underestimate the importance of these dots because the decision they come up with based on these dots will have huge influences on the bond markets, stock markets, currencies and commodity prices all over the world. Some countries may sink into recession. Some countries may see inflation out of control. Some countries will experience significant down-turn on their economies. Above all, many people in many countries will suffer, probably for a long time after Yellen and company wrap up their dot plots.

Grand Lux Café at Venetian September 17, 2015

Our first meal in Las Vegas was at the Grand Lux Café at Venetian.
The casual dining restaurant was adjacent to Venetian’s casino. We were too hungry in the mid-afternoon to search for a restaurant in a huge, maze-like casino. We walked around and stumbled upon Grand Lux Café. Its atmosphere was relaxed and its setting inviting. It looked just fine for us for a quick bite. In addition, its menu offered a wide variety of food items: traditional breakfast omelettes, sandwiches, small plate tapas, pasta, salad and soup, pizza, sliders, hamburgers, nachos and wraps.
We had meatless pasta Carbonara with creamy Parmesan sauce, bacon and peas. We also ordered from the appetizer menu a wonderful plate of seared tuna with Asian favorites: pickled soy bean sprouts, crispy cucumbers (with toasted sesame seeds) and carrots and radish. A soy sauce based dipping sauce also came with the tuna.
Right after our meal, we hit penny slots to try our luck. Well, you never knew what could happen at these slot machines: sometimes you got lucky and won huge prices. Not once. But twice at the same slot machine.
How about that for a revenge against the house?

美國基本教育豈能不敗?
Source:FOX News。
