Our first meal in Las Vegas was at the Grand Lux Café at Venetian.

We walked around and stumbled upon Grand Lux Café. Its atmosphere was relaxed and its setting inviting. It looked just fine for us for a quick bite. In addition, its menu offered a wide variety of food items: traditional breakfast omelettes, sandwiches, small plate tapas, pasta, salad and soup, pizza, sliders, hamburgers, nachos and wraps.

We had meatless pasta Carbonara with creamy Parmesan sauce, bacon and peas. We also ordered from the appetizer menu a wonderful plate of seared tuna with Asian favorites: pickled soy bean sprouts, crispy cucumbers (with toasted sesame seeds) and carrots and radish. A soy sauce based dipping sauce also came with the tuna.

Right after our meal, we hit penny slots to try our luck. Well, you never knew what could happen at these slot machines: sometimes you got lucky and won huge prices. Not once. But twice at the same slot machine.

How about that for a revenge against the house?
