Just when 2018 is about to turn into 2019, here is a list of things that are happening in the most powerful country on earth: the USA:

  • The federal government is closed for business but all federal employees will get paid even though they don’t have to go to work when the federal government is shut down.
  • Trump is incapable of telling the truth and has made at least 7,546 false or misleading claims while in the White House.
  • The White House has an acting chief of staff, an acting secretary of defense, an acting attorney general, an acting EPA administrator, no interior secretary, and no ambassador to the United Nations.
  • Trump’s former campaign chairman, deputy campaign chairman, national security adviser and personal lawyer have all pleaded guilty to crimes.
  • Trump’s campaign, his transition, his foundation, his business and possibly himself and his family are all under investigation.
  • Democrats in the House will likely impeach Trump.
  • The federal government takes in $657 trillion but spent $5.051 trillion.
  • America will spend $874.4 billion on defense in 2018, about 17.3% of total spending.
  • The federal deficit is $1.4 trillion, ~27.8% of what government spent.
  • The national debt stands at $25.6 trillion or about 109% of the
  • Total personal debt is $23.066 trillion or $67,306 per person which does not include total mortgage debt which is another $17.675 trillion. The student loan debt is $1.950 trillion and credit card debt is $1.579 trillion.
  • Major stock indices are in correction territories from recent highs.
  • Short term interest rates are the highest in 10 years.
  • U6 Unemployment Rate as of November 2018 was 7.6%.
  • The war in Afghanistan is going nowhere after spending $1.07 trillion.
  • America waged trade wars with many countries in the world.
  • The US is losing allies all over the world.
  • America is losing influences on world order which America built over the past 70 years.
  • Trump gets his advices on foreign and domestic policies from Fox News and talk-radio hosts.

清风入怀抱 第一诗词 3天前

Here are my thoughts:

I actually don’t like this essay, especially the tone of voice of the Chinese translation. To me, the wording makes it sounds like, pardon my harsh words, a slave asking for his master’s forgiveness, a humble and submissive worker requesting his bullying and all powerful superior’s guidances or a low self-esteem husband who got caught sneaking into the back door in the morning begging for his mean and ugly wife’s mercy.
China is a sovereign country and, as such, China shouldn’t have to ask for other country’s (reads USA) permission to govern its own nation that way it sees fit, protect its lands, guard its national security, fulfill its duties to its people and work towards its obligations to the world.
When China made a mistake, e.g., the smog, do as much as it can to correct the wrong, let others see your accomplishments and move forward.
To hell with the western liberal media’s propaganda! In fact, China should do as much as it can to counter western media’s bias and have its own big voices heard in the world, particularly in the US where most of this evil depiction of China came from.
Has the US apologized for what it has done and is still doing to the world in the past 70 years?
A few cases in point:
1. America used 25% of the world resources to enrich itself for much of the past seventy years,
2. America started many unilateral military actions against other sovereign nations and is still killing many innocent people in many parts of the world. America calls it collateral damage.
3. America used its overwhelming dominance in the financial industry to threaten and sanction other countries into submissions in the name of policing the world peace and protecting America’s national interests,
4. America enjoyed prolonged period of extremely low inflation in the US while exported pollutions to the rest of the world and at the same time cry for human rights and damaging environments outside of the US,
5. The US president now cries for unfair treatments to the American workers and starts unilateral trade wars against the world,
6. America devastated the entire world’s economy and pushed hundreds of millions of people into poverty because of actions of greedy and unscrupulous Wall Street billionaires, stupid US congressmen and congresswomen and failed American government oversight bodies and regulators in the latest financial crisis.
7. At the same time, the action of the US government protected the CEOs of failed Wall Street institutions and created unprecedented inequalities in the entire world,
8. America almost single-handed caused the boom and bust economic cycles in the world and started numerous currency crisis in the developing countries because Federal Reserve raised and lowered interest rates in the US,
8. America instigated numerous covert and open actions to destabilize other nations’ governments for much of the last seven decades and then build that nation with America taxpayers’ money to conform to America’s foreign policy at the time. In the end, it created many rich politicians and made millions hate America,
9. America walked away from contracts and treaties signed by past US governments with other nations and bulled the world to bend under American’s demands,
10. Exported killing machines to other nations, destabilized many regions of the world and started escalating arm races across continents so that these countries will come back for more weapons.
Well, the list goes one but I hope you get the drift.
You most likely have a different opinion about America’s actions, China and the world, if I offended you, please forgive my bluntness.

The “World Order” is America’s to lose March 6, 2017

A few years ago, the term “World Order” was something I didn’t hear much about on any major news media except on neo conservativism websites or in arcane foreign affair articles.

Nowadays, American politicians and military personnel openly talked about it all the time because they are tired of denying its existence.

Source: AP

More importantly, they are scared because they may see it disintegrating right in front of their eyes. The “World Order” is extremely important to the U.S. and the American’s way of life, i.e., living beyond their means, depends on it.

Considering the reserve currency status of the U.S. dollar which allows the U.S. continuously runs huge deficits on foreign trades and federal budget. If the U.S. has to buy another currency to pay for everything they import, e.g., crude oil, U.S. dollar will lose its value like a rock falling off a cliff. American will lose its purchasing power and they will forever live in a poor house simply because it can not afford the huge national debt it owes to foreign credictors.

That’s why America has to defend the “World Order.”

When people in America’s conservative circle talk about “World Order,” they are not talking about peace in the Middle East because no one in the upper echelon of the U.S. government will lose any sleep if a few people die in the middle of the desert. If the supply of Middle East oil is in jeopardy, America has at least 100 days worth of foreign oil import stored in the strategy petroleum reserve in Louisiana. In addition, America’s aircraft carrier is nearby if a quick and precise military action is called for.

When people in America’s conservative circle talk about “World Order,” they are not talking about the safety of Israel because Israel can take care of itself using missiles and defensive system they bought or received as gifts from the U.S. over the past 30 years.

When people in America’s conservative circle talk about “World Order,” they are not talking about keeping Iran’s nuclear weapons in check because those missiles along with their launching facilities are aimed at Israel, not at the U.S. Besides, Israel took care of the nuclear facility in the past and it certainly has the capability to take care of them now. And Israel doesn’t need America’s permission either.

Feminine in Africa? Not America’s problem.

Missile tests by North Korea? They may be a threat to South Korea but it gives America a perfect excuse to station U.S. soldiers in South Korea.

Monetary crisis in South America countries? Doesn’t care. The worse situation these countries are in, the less of a threat they are to the U.S.

As for Europe, the financial crisis, which originated in the U.S., sank the European countries in a shit hole so deep that they have little hope of crawling out from for decades.

Then there are China and Putin’s Russia. Soviet Union was thoroughly humiliated by the U.S. in the late 1980’s. Now Russia has come back from the dead under Putin’s reign. It is threatening American’s dominance in Europe after it annexed Crimea.

China is a clear and present danger to America’s hegemony. Although, China is no where close to challenge America’s leadership position and China is still mired in many internal problems, what China is doing, e.g., One Belt One Road, can not be tolerated by the U.S.

What’s even more troublesome to America’s policy makers is the Russia-China alliance which has the potential to topple America’s dominance in the world. It is a matter of national security to America with deadly consequence.

But, giving America’s huge national debt, unstoppable federal deficits and a rapidly aging population, America’s decline is inevitable and a new empire is emerging no matter how many aircraft carriers America has.

It is just a matter of time.

What Taiwan and the US have in common? April 27, 2013

Hollowing out in the middle! That’s what Taiwan and the US have in common!

It is sad but truth.

The only differences are:

1. Taiwan is in a much advanced stage in this path to destruction while the US is starting to pick up the pace.

2. China did most of this to Taiwan by draining capitals and brain power from Taiwan. Korea and Singapore also contributed to Taiwan’s downfall. 馬英九’s incompetence and gridlock in Taiwan’s government didn’t help either. In the wake of this giant sucking sound since the middle of 1990’s was the flourishing of service-oriented sectors in Taiwan: tourism, restaurants, hotels, taxi, massage parlors and night markets. The riches are richer from their operations pin China while the poor was making lower and lower wages because the service industries don’t pay a lot.

3. Global competition in many sectors has squeezed the American’s middle class out of once good paying jobs. The proof is clearly demonstrated by the 90 million people who are not working but who are not counted as unemployed by the Labor Department. These people have been out of jobs for so long that they are not actively seeking employment any more. They have simply given up looking. Well, that’s why the official unemployment rate in the US is now 7.6% instead of 14+% or so. The Main Street media hides this truth from the American people but the bleeding from the middle has been painfully real.

Just read the article by National Journal and you’ll see the sorry state of the United States.

With Bernanke printing money day and night, the United States is tracing Japanese’s path of lost decade(s) by piling up debt, perpetual anemic growth and ultimately a shrinking economy.

Israel vs. America – A new chapter March 13, 2010

I don’t think Obama likes Mr. Netanyahu and Mr. Netanyahu also despises Obama.

American Jews were a bunch of fools when they voted for obama despite his  extremely zealous relationship with  anti-Israel characters like Jeremiah Wright and Rashid Khalidi. They forgot his middle name and believed his words during the presidential campaign. It’s too late for these Jews and they have to wait three more years before anything can be done with this.

The war started immediately after obama took office when he turned his cheek to Arab Muslims. It intensified after he publicly denounced Israel at UN saying that “America does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlements.”

With the announcement by Mr. Netanyahu’s government to construct 1,600 new homes in East Jerusalem, Israel thumbs its nose to obama and tells the U.S. to buzz off.

Poor Hillary Clinton, whose job on Middle East was taken over by George Mitchel, had to play hard ball with Mr. Netanyahu saying that the new settlement had harmed “the bilateral relationship” between America and Israel.

What she forgot to mention was that the relationship has already been damaged by Obama to begin with.

What’s funny about the whole thing was that the announcement was made when Biden was still in Israel who was giving a speech at Tel Aviv University about Obama administration’s “ironclad commitment to Israeli security.”

World peace, anyone?

More like religious war.
