Someone once asked me what true love was. I didn’t have an answer then because I didn’t know what true love really was.
Human being’s emotion seems to exist constantly in a fragile, unstable and unpredictable state. One moment, the tranquil mindset is kept in check until it is altered by a perturbation from your partner; be it a disagreement, jealousy, hatred or worse, betrayal. which more often than not will rip the equilibrium into pieces. Wave after wave of uncontrollable force thrust a person into a state of great anxiety where animosity from the past co-mingles with hatred erupted from the current event. The resulting torrent can and often push a person to the edge of a bottomless emotion hole. Once a person is trapped in this misery, he or she is drifting aimlessly in a borderless sea of anguish and pain.
I guess this is what “苦海無邊” feels like.
Of course，the solution to “苦海無邊” is “回頭是岸.” But where can a person find the inner strength to dig his- or herself out of that bottomless pit?
And what’s love got to do with this?
I’ve always liked an old Chinese saying about how ”缘“ plays an important role in connecting the lives of two people together:
However，”缘定” doesn’t necessarily mean smooth sailing from now on.The unpredictable nature of human being‘s emotion almost guarantees a bumpy ride when two people with different backgrounds share their intimate lives together.
True love is neither physical, nor romantic. True love is the acceptance of all there is, has been, will be, and will not be.
I asked myself and looked around trying to find an answer.
