After GM and Ford, Trump turned his tweets to Japan’s Toyota.
In essence, Trump tells Abe that you better watch out because I am in charge now.
You might remember that a week after Trump was elected the next U.S. president, Abe rushed to NYC to meet Trump at Trump Tower. After the meeting, Abe praised Trump as a “trustworthy leader.” Abe also said that Japan and the U.S. can build a “relationship of trust.”
In return, Trump called meeting with Abe a “pleasure” and expected a great friendship with Abe.
Didn’t Trump just slap Abe’s face with the tweet? I wonder what kind of leader Abe thinks Trump is after the Toyota tweet. Will Abe continue to trust Trump? Are Trump and Abe still on the same wavelength?
It is your move, Abe.
