Russia is fighting the United States except that you and I are not being told.

The killing field is in Syria.

The intended target is IS.

What transpired is Russia is fighting the U.S. Indirectly.

The players are Russia, U.S., Iran, Syria, Syrian rebels, Turkey, Syrian Turkmens, The al-Nusra Front and IS.

There are other regional shadow players too: Saudia Arabia and Qarter, to name a couple.

The weapons of choice are made in Russia and the U.S.

On one side is Russia, Iran and Syria’s Ba’ath government. They haven’t been friends with the U.S. for the past five decades.

On the other is the United States of America which, more or less, is supporting the Syrian rebels who are fighting against the Syrian government. According to some estimates, there may be as many as 1000 Syrian opposition groups with about 100,000 armed members fighting against the Ba’ath government forces but sometimes against each other.

Since these groups are enemies of Syrian government, they automatically become targets of Russian fighter planes.

There is a third front. The Turkish government supports Syrian Turkmens and they don’t like the Ba’ath government which makes them an enemy of Russia. Since Turkey government shot down a Russian fighter plane and one of its pilots, Russia consider Turkey unfriendly and will take their revenge in time. Of course, Turkey is a member of American controlled NATO which may get involved if it becomes necessary.

It isn’t over yet. Didn’t we mention the IS? Yes, they are probably still the intended targets for Russian and American bombs. They got killed when either American or Russian, of course, we can’t ignor France, bombs fell on them. They are the targets because they killed many people in many countries and recently bought down a Russian civilian airplane which gave Russian a legitmate reason to bring in Russian soldiers and warplanes.

It is not over yet.

The al-Nusra Front cooperates with other Islamist groups fighting against Syrian government forces and they may or may not have connections with or receiving funding from the American intellegence services.

Russia has several forward bases, 31 fixed wing aircraft and 15 helicopters. More warplanes are arriving at another airbase in Syria as we speak.

America is sending more special op soldiers. They are suppose to be there fighting the IS but another objective is to make sure the so called moderate rebels don’t get killed by Russian jets too fast or in too large of a number.

So, we have Russia fight the U.S. through the hands of Syrian government forces and Syrian rebels.

Russia has warplanes and soldiers on the ground in Syria fighting for Assad. Iran helps out when it is convenient.

American drops bombs on IS but provides weapons and funding to the rebels. More sp op personnel is being sent over not necessarily to kill IS in Syria. They are watching what Russia is doing.

Behind all this actions on the front line is Putin’s decision to expand his influence in central Asia and Middle East and to bring back Russia’s glorious days on the world stage.

Obama, on the other hand, talks about a diplomatic solution while fighting a war American shouldn’t fight.

The United States actually is trying to do what it does the best, stirring up the internal business of another while building a different nation in Syria, but this time it steps in Putin’s territory.

Putin is defending his circle of influence no matter how Obama wants to set the rules. Putin is executing his expansion plan and he is willing to push America aside to achieve his goals.

America has a de facto proxy war against Russia in Syria now. After sending more special op soldiers into the killing field, an escalation of conflict becomes more likely.

A real war may come next when everyone expects it the least.

The Vietnam war started with America sending military advisors to watch what north Vietnam and the Soviet Union were doing. It ended with total defeat of American arm forces in the hands of North Vietnamese soldiers which were supported mainly by the Soviet Union.

Does what we have in Syria now sound familiar to you?

What a mess!

Oh, yes. What about IS, isn’t it the original purpose of all these bombs dropped by Americans?

Yes, the bombs are still flying. The Pentagons has told us so and some first years reporters in his or her New York cubicled are keeping the scores.

But, I think at least 95% of Americans don’t know what’s going on there. They still think IS militans are being killed in the hundreds by American bombs, if not thousands. Who is counting anyway?
