The free concert and outdoor party in Philadelphia on July 4th is dubbed the “largest free Concert in the US.” I have one word for it:

The concert weren't open until sunset or around 8:30 PM.

Boring.

This is about 4000 feet from the main stage. We weren't too far away from the fountain in the beginning.

There were a lot of people alright but most of them, like us, were there to see the$7 for a 1/4 cup of flour, yeast, some powder sugar and grease. This was a rip off. No question about it. Concert got started around 8:30 but we were too far away. Couldn't even hear what was going on on the stage. The mayor came by though.fireworks because we were hundreds of feet away from the stage and two large screen monitors on The Benjamin Franklin Parkway so that we didn’t know what was going on on the stage. The web site said that the fireworks would start on 10:30 PM which was late already.

There were the usual at the site: food stands, long lines to buy food, midway plays, promotional booth and a lot of cops. FBI was there too.

We got there around 7 and we waited and waited. We waited some more. And it was about 10:30 and the fireworks should start soon.

10:15 PM. The mayor got to the stage and talked about how good Philadelphia can do big parties.

10:20 PM. Mayor was gone. No fireworks. Concert continued.

10:45 PM. The group on the stage finally stopped performing. Firework should start in no time.

10:46 PM. Another group was introduced to the stage. They

11:20 PM. Concert stopped.

11:24 PM. Fireworks started.

Most fireworks were like this one at 11:25 PM.

About 10 seconds before the end of the fireworks.

About 10 seconds before the end of the fireworks.

Most fireworks were single or double rounds of skyrockets with various colors. Nothing to write home to, really.

11:38:41 PM. Fireworks stopped.

We waited for five plus hours for about 14 minutes of fireworks. And the show wasn’t even great. It wasn’t as good as the one we saw in Washington DC from the Pentagon parking lot.

Disappointed.

Boring.

Will not go anymore.
