Paladar, Tysons Corner, Virginar November 23, 2014

This rum bar/Latin restaurant used to be Bertucci. Bertucci closed down and the space stood empty for a while because this isn’t the best place to get in and out.

Paladar came and we waited for at least 6 months before giving it a try.

We didn’t like it. The food looks okay and it is over priced by about 20%. Paladar probably didn’t have much choice: its landlord probably charges it an arm and a leg to open a restaurant here: $55/sq ft, maybe. It is located at a busy intersection where people line up to enter I-495 all the time.

We will not come back. Service was good but we just didn’t like this type of food. There were tacos and regular Latin fare which weren’t very inviting to ud. Beer was great. Coffee was great. But there is only so much one can do with tacos and black beans, you know what I mean. It’s not Paladar’s fault. My bad.

See for yourself.
