I read about this place on the web and wanted to check it out. Saturday, 4/19/2014, was the date we ate here. It was an impressive operation and the place could accomondate 660 people at a time. I believed it was operated by people fron Taiwan. I gave it 85 points out of 100.

The selections were many. The ingredients were fresh except crabs and some shrimps. The tastes were fair except the hotpot which was excellent: the broth was savoy, fish balls and fish cakes were tender yet chewy in the middle, mushrooms were very fresh, fried tofu soaked up enough juicy broth in the middle that they had to be eaten very csrefully. Finally, a few clams we had in there added considerable flavor to the entire pot.

The services were adequate. The fight to get food was intense because the restaurant was very busy on a Saturday. The price, at ¥258 per person was high but you got free beers, free sake, free Chinese red and white wines (They were not very good though.) I was talked into by a sweet lady or 服务员 buying a 金钱豹 membership at ¥1,000 with an instant¥100 bonus and a 10% senior discount (to members only.) After paying for our meals, I still have ¥650+ left. In essence, our meal cost about ¥350 for two instead of ¥516. I think people paid less than ¥175 each if they participated in Group Buying 团购 but I haven’t figured out how to do it.

As for the ¥1,000 membership, unless you want to suffer through another run of 暴饮暴食然后悔不当初发誓下不为例, don’t do it.

The free warm sake was good. 长城 white wine, also free, tasted like grape juice. It needs another 20 years to be drinkable. I skipped the red.
